Board Game
Strategy board game for 2 players.
Each player starts with 9 pieces and the game is played in two phases. First, players alternately place their pieces on any of the 24 corners they wish, trying to form a "triliza"—that is, three pieces in a row. After all the pieces have been placed, each player then takes turns moving their pieces to form a "triliza" or, if that's not possible, to prepare for one while at the same time blocking the opponent from making one. Pieces move following the lines (vertically and horizontally, not diagonally). Whenever a player forms a "triliza," they take one piece from the other player, making sure it is not part of an already completed "triliza." The winner is the player who leaves their opponent with fewer than three pieces or manages to block all their pieces so they cannot move.
The "Nine Men's Morris" is one of the oldest games in the world. A design of such a game was found among the ruins of Troy. From Greece, through trade, the game spread to Western Europe.
