Description

Game of chance and tactics for 2–3 or 4 players.

Players try to play all their tiles by matching one of the two numbers shown on each tile. The first player to play all their tiles wins.

Dominoes is an extremely engaging and exciting game that doesn’t require a large number of players. You can even play as a pair, with your son or daughter, without losing any of its appeal.

Before you begin, turn all the tiles face down and shuffle them well. Then, each player randomly takes 7 domino tiles from the set and places them in front of them. The player with the 6-6 tile goes first. If no one has it, the player with the 5-5, 4-4, and so on, goes first. In rare cases, neither player may have a double tile. In that case, the player with the tile that has the highest total number of pips goes first.

The next player adds one of their tiles, provided it has a number that matches one of the numbers on a tile already played. If they don’t have a matching tile, they draw a domino from the set. If it matches, they play it; otherwise, they keep it.

The winner is the first player to get rid of all their tiles. The other players are charged the points shown on their tiles. The first player to score more than 100 points loses.

A game of dominoes often ends a little earlier when a situation known as a “block” occurs. In this case, the players cannot make a move, even though they have already used the draw pile. The players then count their points. The player with the lowest total scores no points, while the other player is awarded the difference between the winner’s and loser’s points.
