In the second book of the series, the Apprentice to the Villain returns stronger and the Villain, although still dark, mysterious, and dangerous, now seems to be overwhelmed by feelings that previously didn’t ruin his image as the perfect… Scoundrel!!!
Among old secrets coming to light, enemies who weren’t invited, and decisions that could destroy either the world or Evie’s heart, the dilemma is clear: save humanity or kiss the Scoundrel? Spoiler: no one is calm, nothing goes according to plan, and evil becomes more and more… attractive.

I was ready to return to the fairytale world that made me laugh and have such a good time, as I admit I missed that unbelievable chemistry between Seitz and the Villain.
Did I regret it?
Of course not.
Although weaker than the first book of the series (in my opinion), the second book still offers moments of pure enjoyment and laughter and takes you on a dreamy journey with many funny incidents and plenty of adventure.

However, I won’t hide that I found the many POVs in this book a bit unnecessary and I think they didn’t add anything special to the plot, and after a certain point they started to confuse me.
The abrupt change of scenes and characters created a bit of chaos in my mind and I often found myself distracted from the story.

Finally, I like slow burn and 9/10 I fully enjoy it, as I did here, but I think that after a certain point we were just delaying things for no real reason, just to keep the reader hanging.

I recommend it to young and old who would be willing to kiss the frog to make him a prince?
