No matter how good a camera is, what use is it when it gives you… nothing? My experience with GoPro is disappointing, as the supporting apps are so bad that all you achieve is getting overwhelmed. The result? Endless hours of effort just to be able to edit the video you’ve shot.
The real ordeal begins when you try to apply basic settings, such as horizon level and keyframes, to convert the 360° footage to 16:9, with the results not being worth the trouble. It’s almost impossible to do proper editing and all you manage is to waste hours of your life.
In fact, the most frustrating thing is that the camera "freezes" for no reason. I went skiing, placed the GoPro on my helmet, and after going down the slope, I realized the camera had frozen and the video was lost. Completely unjustified! And this isn’t the exception, but the rule, with continuous "freezes" that make the experience pointless.
Moreover, GoPro seems to repeat the same mistakes, with new models that don’t offer a real upgrade. Every year they release a new model, but after so many years they still fail to provide support for older cameras, while their competitors have far surpassed them.
I expected a lot from GoPro, having used the Hero 7, Hero 9, Fusion, and now the latest model. However, I ended up using the Insta360 app to edit my videos, and the difference is huge. The app works excellently, which made me say: "Never again GoPro."
If you’re looking for a reliable camera and apps that work, GoPro is not the right choice. Truly a shame.
