History, Mythology, and Plant Morphology: Damiana is a small shrub that thrives in Central and South America, Mexico, and the Caribbean. Its small, yellow flowers have a strong aroma reminiscent of chamomile, while its fruits have a fig-like taste. It grows up to 2 meters tall, with leaves reaching 25 cm. The Mayas and Aztecs used it as a general tonic and aphrodisiac.

Usage: 1 tablespoon of crushed damiana (or a pinch of uncrushed) is placed in a container where 1 glass of water is added, the mixture is boiled for 5 – 10 minutes, then after standing, the liquid is strained and consumed. Ideal for vegetarians and vegans.
