    This review is about the quantity: 100 gr

    The product says it is "strongly aromatic smoked black tea". That is not true. Since I have been a fan of smoked tea for years, this is by far the least aromatic smoked tea I have tried. In fact, I bought the more expensive one (8310) hoping it would be more aromatic (the same supplier also has the cheaper 8312). The corresponding ones from Fotsi (best value for money, 4€/100gr) and Tearoute are much more aromatic. I will not buy it again.

Description & Specifications

Dark tea extract with an intense aroma and smoky flavor, ideal to accompany salty and lightly smoked tastes. It is known to have been Sherlock Holmes' favorite tea.

The preparation process includes:

  • Withering the leaves over a fire made from pine and cypress branches and trunks.
  • Frying and rolling the leaves, which are then pressed into wooden barrels for fermentation/oxidation.
  • A second frying and rolling to achieve a thin and straight shape.
  • Drying in bamboo baskets over pine branches to absorb the smoky aroma.

The result of the process is thin, shiny, and black tea leaves.
