The successor to the throne

High-end features at a mid-range price

The MT Atom 2 SV has arrived to shake up the Flip-Up category. Replacing the best-selling Atom SV, it brings MT Helmets’ expertise (from the Thunder 4 SV) to a new generation modular helmet.

Designed from scratch to exceed the strict ECE 22.06 standards, it offers features that until now could only be found in much more expensive models.

Made from HIRP (High Impact Resistant Polymer), it combines durability with low weight (~1650g), making it the ultimate ally for long-distance enthusiasts.

MT-RADD: Aerodynamic Superiority

On the journey, the enemy is the wind.

The MT-RADD (Reduced Aero Drag Design) technology reduces resistance, offering stability and quietness.

  • MT-AFCS Ventilation: The airflow system with two intakes (front and top) and discreetly hidden exhausts under the rear spoiler ensures cooling without noise.
  • Eco-Conscious: The external parts are removable for easy repair and maintenance, increasing the helmet's lifespan.

Visibility without "blind" spots

Innovation MT-ESP & MT-FSOS

Visibility in the Atom 2 SV is simply top-notch.

  • MT-ESP (Extended Sunvisor Protection): The internal tinted visor drops down low to the nose, offering full coverage from light without gaps.
  • MT-FSOS: Quick-release visor system with automatic anti-fog position (so it doesn't fog up when you stop).
  • Pinlock & FogOff: The visor (MT-V 35) is ready to accept the top anti-fog membranes on the market.

Safety and comfort P/J

Ride the way you want

With the double P/J certification, you can legally ride with the chin guard open in the city and close it at the push of a button when you get on the highway.

  • Micrometric Double Tooth: The closure is done with a double-hook micrometric buckle (MT-MDTC) for maximum safety against accidental opening.
  • Premium interior: High-quality fabrics, fully removable and washable, offering a sense of luxury.

Tested in Practice: What Riders Say About the MT Atom 2 SV

We have gathered for you the top highlights from verified owners' reviews:

  • Perfect shading: Internal smoked visor (MT-ESP), which offers better fit and coverage compared to other helmets in its category.
  • Premium feel: The pads and fastenings are of very high quality for its price (VFM).
  • King of the city: Ideal for daily commuting, with excellent ventilation and a wide field of vision.

Very nice helmet, seems to be of good quality. The noise is typical for this price range, meaning after 100-120 km/h you can hear it, but it doesn't bother me. Perfect for city use. VFM

The helmet is very high quality for the 165 euros it costs. The fastenings are correct without strange noises or creaks. The membranes are very good, the plastics and the foam padding are of good quality. I would like it to come in more gloss colors, e.g., a tricolor or bicolor. The matte colors scratch after a while and the helmet looks old.

I ended up with this one after research. I was between this, the LS2 Strobe II, and the HJC C91N. All three cost between 150-180 euros depending on the color. I believe that the MT ATOM 2 SV excels in points. It is slightly more quality than the LS2 Strobe, on the same level as the HJC C91N. However, the C91N does not have a protective nose cover inside the helmet, and the tinted visor is a bit short. It does not cover the prescription glasses down to the bottom. Also, in the ATOM 2 SV and Strobe II, the tinted membrane when lowered rests on the nose cover, resulting in almost the entire face being protected from the wind, insects, etc. However, in the MT Atom 2, the tinted membrane fits more correctly.

Regarding the padding, I again consider that those of the MT ATOM 2 SV are of better quality than those of the LS2, and on the same level as the HJC. However, in the last two, in certain areas at the bottom of the helmets, a material that resembles leatherette is used. From my experience with other helmets, I have seen similar material fray after a few years, and that made me avoid them. In the MT Atom 2, there is quality fabric everywhere.

Its use will mainly be within the city at speeds of 40-80 km/h, so I don't think there will be aerodynamic noises.
