Powerful men rise to power. Democracies falter. But every tyranny has an end. Tyrants appear invincible, yet all of them – without exception – fall.

And this is because they carry within themselves the same weaknesses that lead to their destruction: a close circle full of betrayal, military elites that undermine the regime, dissatisfied masses tired of injustice, rebels organizing in exile.

Tyrants always have more enemies than friends. And when their time comes, they do not retire quietly – exile, prison, or death await them, while what follows may forever change the fate of an entire people.

Democracy has not conquered every corner of the planet – and perhaps it will never reach everywhere. The precedent exists, and the example spreads.

Those who remain in power with seemingly unlimited strength – the new tyrants – appear all-powerful. But they have every reason to fear.
