I have had the phone for 10 days now, replacing a Huawei P30 lite. My usage involves some photography-related apps and general use (scrolling on the internet, calls). With this usage, the battery easily lasts two days. I chose this phone because of the large battery, RAM, the fact that it does NOT have a curved glass, and it offers very good water/dust protection (although I don’t intend to test its limits), and with a budget up to €400 (I got it for 279). It comes with a plastic case, SIM pin, and charging cable (but not a charger).

The phone doesn’t lag and has no issues even with heavy apps, such as DJI Fly, which worked flawlessly for 20 minutes at 25 degrees without crashing the phone (the P30 lite would have crashed 2-3 times in these conditions – note that DJI didn’t officially support smooth operation with this phone), although it did get warm. In other apps, like LR for mobile, it runs like a rocket, even with many apps open simultaneously.

I haven’t faced any connectivity or call quality issues, only that the GPS tag on photos can be quite inaccurate (up to 2 kilometers off! – maybe due to the location accuracy setting), but I haven’t experienced this issue in other apps that use GPS (at least so far). The screen is nice, bright (maybe too bright in the dark, but there’s an accessibility setting for extra brightness reduction, though it keeps dimming), and responds well.

It has some of its own apps like games that send notifications, but they can be disabled. Also, I haven’t managed to find where the pedometer is (I guess it’s inside Fitbit, but it asks for account creation and I don’t intend to do that – at least on the P30 lite I could see my steps during the day without creating an account).

More specifically, I’ll focus on the phone’s photographic capabilities:

It has three cameras/lenses (the ultra-wide also works as macro), and generally performs very well, even in low light, as long as you don’t zoom. The maximum photo size is 50Mpix (with the main camera), but there’s no point in shooting at maximum resolution because the phone at standard resolution (12.5 Mpix) combines four pixels into one to create a smaller but higher-quality image (also saving storage space). Megapixels measure the dimensions of the photo, not the quality, and in most cases (posting on social media), even 3 mpix images are large enough.

The phone doesn’t have a telephoto lens, so image quality drops sharply after 2x zoom. The phone uses computational magic to improve the image when zooming: it increases local contrast and tries to enhance/smooth details, making them look waxy. If you don’t like this, you can change it in pro mode, but the detail is worse. I’ve included two 4X photo examples (those with the road), one in photo mode and one in pro mode (with WB set a bit more yellow/warm).

Something that impressed me is the ability to shoot images in raw, meaning the phone saves the “raw” photo data without any processing, which is then done in a specialized app (I use Lightroom mobile since I already pay for a subscription for processing photos from a regular camera). The feature is available at 1x, 0.5x, and macro (the phone has no optical zoom), as well as on the selfie camera.

Editing raw unlocks the sensor’s full potential, greatly expands editing possibilities without losing quality, free from the phone’s built-in algorithms, which usually increase contrast and oversharpen the image, while losing the finest details (see the differences in the quinoa dish photo). You can apply different filters than those on the phone, change color with great precision, pull details from shadows or highlights, and many other tricks. For example, the meat dish is half lit by the sun, and the clothes are black, but it manages to render both nicely. Generally, the level of fine detail achieved from raw has nothing to envy from a professional camera. Of course, it lags in dynamic and color range, and in low light, noise increases quickly, but that’s expected due to the small sensor.

Regarding macro, know that since it’s the same as the ultra-wide (so no zoom, actually the opposite), for very small objects the phone’s lens must get within millimeters of the subject. The flower and insect photo is with raw data and macro (without raw, it does very aggressive noise reduction). The ultra-wide photos are of similar quality. I haven’t used the selfie camera.

Because it was mentioned somewhere that when you open the camera it forgets the last mode, there’s a camera setting “retain last mode,” which is by default off. Generally, explore the various settings (not just camera, but general phone settings too, there are some “hidden” tricks there) to customize the phone to your liking.

Overall, so far I’m very satisfied, with very good value for money. I wish it had optical zoom, but I don’t think that’s something you can expect in this price range, especially considering how good it is in other areas.

I hope it lasts as long as the previous one (although software updates won’t continue for as long).

Screen:
The screen is a 6.67" P-OLED with 120Hz and HDR10+, and it looks very nice in practice. It has vivid colors, very good resolution (1220x2712), and is quite bright (up to 4500 nits), so you won’t have a problem even outdoors. On Netflix and Amazon Prime it plays 1080p normally and the image is very good with nice colors.

Processor & Graphics:
It has a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 with Mali-G615 MC2 and in daily use it is fast and without lag. It also performs well in games for its price. In Antutu it scored about 858,378k, which is a very good score for its category.

Memory & Storage:
It comes with options from 128GB up to 512GB and 8GB or 12GB RAM, so you won’t have issues with space or multitasking. It also supports a microSD card, which is a big plus.

Camera:
The main camera is 50MP with OIS and takes good photos during the day, with nice colors and detail. It also has an 8MP ultrawide. At night it drops a bit, but it’s ok for its category. Video goes up to 4K (30/60fps) and is clear.

Battery & Charging:
The battery (6720mAh) easily lasts more than a day. Charging at 30W is fine for daily use.

Connectivity:
It has WiFi 6 and the connection is quite good, even when you are further from the router or there are obstacles (walls etc). In general, it gets good signal.

Software & Updates:
It came with Android 15 but has already received Android 16 with the March 2026 security update. It will also get Android 17 and generally has support for updates until 2029, so you’re covered for years.

Build & Durability:
It has Gorilla Glass 7i on the front, eco leather on the back, and is resistant to water and dust (IP68/IP69), which is very positive for its price.

Overall:
For its price, it’s a very honest phone, with a strong screen, good performance, big battery, and years of support. Minor downside is the camera at night, but overall it’s worth it

I am a user who uses the phone for simple everyday use, a bit of everything (at certain times of the day) mail-viber-tiktok + phone calls. Former owner of Samsung and Xiaomi until recently, what always interested me was good battery life and fast processor response. In this phone, I finally found them + the fact that it has clean Android. The only problem I faced at least in the first 2 days was some difficulty transitioning from Xiaomi's operating system settings to Moto G86 Power as well as the operation of the power button. For photos (I take very few) and games, I don't play. I combined it with a Motorola charger (mc502), which charges it at a measured 25W from the A - C port, and 45W from the C - C port according to the app (AccuBattery), or for an even more economical and reliable option, the Powertech PT-1499, which charges it according to the app (AccuBattery) at 32W from the A - C port and goes from 35% to 90% in 50 minutes with a Mcdodo CA-2092 cable. If you use it more or less the same way and don't plan to spend more than 250 euros, buy it without fear and you will be impressed by its battery but also everything it offers at this price.

When in this category, the wolf is parading as a lamb!! And with an upgrade to Android 16 and even 17 that it will get.

Pros
PRICE, WEIGHT on the wrist, Very large BATTERY for the category (for me 3 days and more, on power saving, and everything on a black background), and still 30 percent reserve!! Tough against impacts, and very high-quality SCREEN.
Durability, WATERPROOFING.
Memory card slot.
Connectivity, audibility, quality sound, RELIABILITY, speed.
Sufficient internal storage, no ads in the menu, easy deletion of unnecessary pre-installed apps, easy customization, quick camera - flashlight opening with gestures.
Decent for the category rear camera 50 mp f 1.8 with Sony lytia 600 tm sensor. 4K 30 fps video, and clear photos, in sufficient lighting. In night shots of faces and landscapes, from a distance, the overall result is ok. However, in zoom, it disappoints, compared to the Samy M35, which has the same camera.
The front at 32 mp f 2.2 takes clear photos both day and night.
Basically, the camera has strong features. Something happens in processing, especially in night shots.

Cons
Outdated and wrong charging cable usb a to type c, because on any 30w charger you use it will only give you up to 18w charging. I don't think you'll find a usb a charger that gives the charging the phone wants.
No charger included as with almost all phones, get a TURBOPOWER up to 30w, type c, with a type c cable. Charging will last about an hour.
No hole for wired headphones.
The cameras are set to standard megapixels, if you want the higher resolution of 50 on the back and 32 on the front, every time you open the camera, you have to reset it.
Ok, that's annoying. Also, and I discovered this much later, when you set the phone to silent or vibrate and make a call, it automatically switches to sound.
Radiation so and so 0.89.

Conclusion.
All the features I wanted from a phone, gathered in this device. If it had a bit better zoom result in night shots... It would touch perfection.

The G86 Power 5G (12/256GB) is a competitive choice in its price category, offering a set of features that make it a worthwhile device. With a cost of around €230 (with the discount), the device combines functionality and durability, meeting the needs of a wide range of users, making it what we call value for money.
One of the first things that stands out is the OLED screen with good color performance and satisfactory contrast, offering a pleasant experience when viewing content and for daily use. Special mention should be made of the battery life, which offers significant autonomy, allowing you to go at least two days with fairly intensive use (e.g. 2 days with lots of calls—I don't play games—and of course data always on) without the need for frequent charging. This is an advantage for those looking for a phone that will support them throughout the day and beyond.
Additionally, it offers IP68 certification, which provides protection against dust and water ingress. This gives an extra sense of security when using the phone in various environments.
In the photography department, the camera is decent (for the device's price). While it’s not something "wow," it is definitely okay for its price.

-I bought it from Plaisio on Black Friday for 229 euros.
-Battery is very good, I disabled and uninstalled all the bloatware before doing anything of course... It has a very good battery analysis so you can see if any app is messing around with the battery. Daily drain is 3-5% without wifi and without a SIM card.
-The screen is very fast in terms of touch response etc., it reminds me of iPhone or Samsung in speed.
-Options for blocking apps are perhaps the most free and effective I've seen.
-Minimal bloatware compared to Xiaomi, Motorola after updates puts some games and some apps that can be easily removed or blocked, unlike Xiaomi.
-It doesn't have a charger but it comes from the factory with a hard plastic case in the same color so I saved about 10 euros there. However, it slips on surfaces because it's hard plastic.
-The screen is quite good although my 7-year-old Xiaomi 9se has a slightly better range at extreme brightness/darkness, also the viewing angles are slightly worse on the Motorola. (Maybe that's good so the person next to you can't see.)
-Stereo sound is decent although a 120 euro Oppo had a more satisfying stereo sound. The speakers on the Motorola, one faces down and one through the earpiece, so they don't emit in the same direction and it DOES NOT create convincing stereo sound, and if you change your hand position around the phone the sound changes a lot and you don't know where to put your hands so you don't think your ear is blocked.
-The software is very poor in many micro-settings for the power button on the side, for the top bar and others, sometimes it feels like they left it halfway like a budget phone, e.g. it doesn't even show what speed you are downloading data at while the edge60 from the same company does. Also, it wastes a lot of space on the home screen, i.e. a 6.6-inch phone has 5x7 icon slots while my 5.8-inch Xiaomi 9se has 5x8 slots. And even though it has a huge screen, the indicators at the top for time, battery, and other info you have to look at with a magnifying glass.
-The main camera 1x is better than my 7-year-old Xiaomi 9se, the wide angle is equally bad, with slightly better brightness range due to A.I. The telephoto is much worse and gets blinded if you try to take a picture of something bright with darkness around, e.g. through a window, it doesn't have a center focus option, also the telephoto has quite reduced detail because it essentially does digital zoom even though it has 3 lenses. It also adds a lot of sharpness in post-processing and tries to have a wide brightness range through software which is not that impressive. Also, although it's not visible anywhere, it does A.I. enhancement to the image so in moderate lighting it tries to improve quality resulting in various weird shapes like mud or shadows, especially in details like letters from a book, etc.
-The fingerprint function made me do about 15-20 times in different positions with my thumb. On the first unlock it always hesitates as if it takes time to wake up.
-The side buttons for volume and lock are very small and it's hard to tell by touch which is which... Also, the button to turn off the phone requires a combination that's hard to get right.
*EDIT:
-It struggles when I have data and wifi on, when I enter the house it doesn't automatically switch to wifi. Twice already I had to manually press it to connect. It used up my MBs before I realized it.
-GPS is BELOW AVERAGE, more inaccurate and slower than my previous Xiaomi. It takes time to lock, and even when it does, it takes a while to become accurate. Especially for driving with Google Maps in central Piraeus-Athens. But it also did it on Kifisos, it put me on the side road 10 meters away...
-One positive is that when you charge it to 100%, it takes quite a while to drop from 100% to 99%.
-The fingerprint seems to have improved on its own with use. Only if my hands are slightly dirty does it not work, which is good because my previous phone would unlock with other people's fingers :P...
-Also, the test photos I deleted from the phone, I connected with a USB cable from the computer and I can see them normally, with the only difference being that the file name says 'trashed' next to it.
*EDIT2:
USB tethering doesn't work, so I made the Motorola a wifi hotspot and used my old phone without a SIM as a device with USB to my computer and it worked fine.
So, 5G Motorola Wifi hotspot -> Xiaomi 9 wifi -> USB tethering Xiaomi -> PC

G86 Power. Owner for 1 month. User of the brand for 10+ years. Exclusively on entry level / mid range devices. This one was acquired at a higher price (before Black Friday), due to urgency.

Cons:

1) Lack of 3.5mm jack: To many, it sounds like a paleolithic feature. Nevertheless, when the headphones light up red, the cable is handy as a "spare." You can use an adapter, but the jack alone fits better.

2) Hybrid sim: If you travel a lot, it’s definitely handy. Otherwise, you lose 1 slot, which could be used differently.

3) SAR: For those interested, body_0.89 / head_1.32. The latter is high, so hands free won’t hurt.

4) The completely silly change/shift in use, in power button and switch off.

The so-so:

1) Software updates: On paper, there seem to be two, so it will get up to Android 17. Compared to other companies, and the more expensive Edge series, they are clearly fewer (and always delayed).

2) Speakers: Yes, Dolby Atmos. Yes, with relatively balanced output (although the earpiece channel is quieter, and their arrangement is asymmetrical). Oui, customize as you wish. Da, you won’t miss a call, they are loud.

But the highs screech uncomfortably. Most common, you lower the volume to 7-8. For max volume on incoming, ringtone with boosted bass and equalizer on flat, it evens out.

3) Gallery: I’ve read complaints in many comments about the lack of a native app. It’s Google’s, as if it weren’t! I use the ancient Memoria (2018 version) and it works perfectly. So you’ll find something.

4) Nova Launcher (if installed): On previous models, it did cause performance hits under load, with occasional brief freezes. So far here, nothing has come up.

5) A.I.: Didn’t even touch it, no comment.

6) Bloatware: Gone are the days when there wasn’t a single foreign pre-installed app. The "useful" downloads during initial setup can be disabled/deleted. 10 minutes max.

With the right settings on the device, you avoid annoying pop-up ads like Temu-God, Trendy-all, and Revo-loot.

Pros:

1) UI: Easy and customizable, runs fast, without getting lost in an endless sequence of settings.

2) Hardware: I’ve posted before that I’m a terrible user. Didn’t put it in a vise to check durability, but many drops and knocks, both at work and for "entertainment."

For a non-rugged phone, it’s sturdy. Overall, Rockarolla phones have good build quality. I’ll sign a legal statement about this. No jokes or dishonesty.

3) Gaming: On light titles (8BP, Sea Battle 2, Grim Tides) it does great. For more demanding ones, I have no idea. Get a PlayStation.

4) Screen Brightness: No need to detail nits and ppi. The first Moto I’ve had that isn’t hard to see under sunlight.

5) Fingerprint Sensor: It works. Fast. With screen protector and wet thumb. Tested.

6) Appearance: Not bad. The various color options give a different tone. The vegan leather-like back offers good grip and anti-slippery. An assorti case is included in the package.

7) Processor: Not the fastest, not the best, but no lag. If it provides any image, let me mention that it works seamlessly while I’m simultaneously downloading torrents, converting files, and doing cut-and-paste in the Editor.

8) Battery: Here’s the main point. I didn’t check SOT. I know that if you don’t leave it alone for a moment, it definitely lasts 8 hours. What I timed was the recharge and drain. 0-100 with the device off, it fills up in 84 minutes.

With Data, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth paired to on-ear headphones on, it charges from 20-80% in 70 minutes. In flight mode, it takes 42. Per hour, on standby, it drops 0%; if you use it, 6-10.

There’s a “switch” to set the charge level to your desired limit for hardware protection, and it stops there.

No egg-frying temperatures on the back. The 33W brick is missing from the accessories.

9) Camera: Sample notes follow.

a) The mouse, from the 32MP front, in poor lighting, night shot.
b) The manual, macro without flash, poor lighting, night shot.
c) The lamp, from the 50MP, in dim light, daytime.
d) The cat, with the 8MP wide, daytime.

In conclusion, it does its job. Neither wow nor laughable. The shutter responsiveness has clearly improved. Kind reminder, you won’t become Helmut Newton with a phone lens.

10) Quick Gestures: Very convenient, always useful. The karate chop for open torch is now classic. Works flawlessly in a wallet case, which wasn’t always the case before.

11) Videos: Daylight test. Good results, whether in bright or shady/semi-dark environments. At Full HD 60 fps everything’s fine. In 4K 30fps, OIS struggles a bit with sudden fast movements, and occasionally produces hunting focus.

12) Haptics: No issues. The response is quick, even with tempered glass installed.

13) Ram / Rom Memory: At 12/256 it’s just fine. Up to 10 open pages I tested, it handles them easily. It’s better not to activate Boost.

As for storage, it’s more than enough (see photo). Unless you’re a digital turtle, carrying all your files with you.

14) Calls gsm / viber: Finally, it also works as a phone. No problems, nothing particularly negative about call sound or image quality.

Conclusion: For what it stands for, it’s a standard vfm. At 230 today, even Stevie Wonder would see the green light.

Update 1: On December 10, it received Android 16.

I was ready to get the simple (G86) model for 226.00e from the cheapest shop on the list, but the day I decided to go, Plaisio put the (G86 power) on Black Friday offer for 229.90e, so it was a no-brainer! (In the end, the two models don’t have a serious weight difference due to the bigger battery, but they do have a significant difference in RAM and storage space.) Plaisio Vouliagmenis has them for test drive.

It feels premium in the hand compared to Xiaomi etc., reminds me of Samsung and at first glance it doesn’t overwhelm you with unnecessary applications and other stuff like Samsung-Xiaomi does.

Nice, solid phone, time will tell, I’ve had it for 1 day, it’s fast and seems suitable for classic smartphone use.

It comes with a fairly sturdy and modest case and a cable in the package.

(Heads up, there are models with 2 physical SIMs and models with 1 physical and one e-SIM.) Of course, the responsible salesperson at Plaisio mobile assured me that all have both 2 physical and e-SIM at the same time, which is of course not true!
