Players take turns drawing cards until someone draws an Exploding Kitten, at which point they "explode" and are out of the game — unless they have a Defuse card to prevent it. The other cards in the game offer options for strategic moves: rearranging the order of the cards, skipping a draw, canceling an opponent's action, stealing cards, and more. The last player left alive (without exploding) is the winner of the game.
The Exploding Kittens – 2-Player Edition is the version of the famous card game "Exploding Kittens" specially adapted for two players. In its most elegant and compact form, it retains the humorous and witty style of the original, offering fast-paced, intense "last one standing" gameplay between two opponents.

What's in the box?
- 32 cards in total
- 1 instruction manual (rules)
Features
- Number of Players: 2
- Age: 7+ years
- Game Duration: < 15 minutes (short game)
Everything you need to know to play:
-
Shuffle the 32 cards and place them as a stack (Draw Pile), face down.
-
Deal 7 cards to each player, plus 1 Defuse card each time — each player starts with 8 cards in total.
-
Remove the Exploding Kitten card from the deck (if present) and keep it aside temporarily.
-
Players take turns: they can use as many action cards as they want (or none) and finally draw one card from the pile.
If someone draws an Exploding Kitten and does not have a Defuse, they "explode" and are out of the game — the other player wins.
-
If they have a Defuse, they can play it, prevent the explosion, and place the Exploding Kitten back into the deck (secretly) in any position they want.
-
There are action cards such as Shuffle (shuffle the pile), See the Future (peek at the next 3 cards), Skip (skip drawing), Attack, Nope, and Cat Cards that allow combinations to take a card from your opponent.
-
The game ends when a player "explodes" — the last surviving player wins.
