The journey to 100 friends begins with just one conversation. The socially anxious high school student, Shoko Komi, has the greatest dream of making friends, but everyone at school confuses her terrifying anxiety with cold reserve.

Fortunately, she meets Tadano, a hesitant wallflower who decides to step out of his comfort zone to help her achieve her goal of making 100 friends.

Komi's final year of high school is going wonderfully! She led her class to victory at the cultural festival (meaning, their ramen was a success and nothing burned), and she is getting closer to her goal of 100 friends! But her younger brother, Sosuke, is not so lucky. Recently, a threatening new group led by Tadano's sister has started targeting him, and they are determined to make him smile!
