The purpose of the newly released book is to present a well-known and somewhat familiar, yet at the same time unknown to many, leading poet of the New Attic Comedy, Menander of Kifisia, who was born in the ancient Municipality of Kifisia and lived and worked approximately 2,500 years ago. This study is an effort to investigate the position his work holds throughout history, the socio-political conditions under which it was shaped, as well as its distinctive characteristics that make it unique.

We will refer to the information available about Menander's life, personality, and work, connect them with the key events of his era, and attempt to place him within the broader context of the tradition of ancient world Comedy as well as that of more recent times.
