Description

Nowadays, the institution of marriage has been shaken. The poor quality of life among married couples, the increasing number of divorces, child-centered marriages, and alienated or conventional relationships have "sown" the seed of doubt and make young people hesitant about the prospect of marriage. An alternative presented is cohabitation, which often serves as a stepping stone, a general rehearsal before marriage. On the other hand, premarital cohabitation does not necessarily lead to a successful marriage. The issue, however, is not to choose between cohabitation and marriage or to substitute one for the other, but to examine the attitude with which one approaches each.

The desire for a family, which includes raising children, presupposes a renewal of the institution of marriage so that it fits into a broader framework. The two partners are called to leave behind behaviors they observed in their parents, which were suffocating. At the same time, they need to redefine the marriage contract and tailor it to their own needs: to leave emotional space and personal time for each other, adopt more flexible roles, cultivate personal development, feel familiarity, but not be entirely dependent.
