De Caen anemone bulbs flower from February to May and produce large, poppy-like blooms. The plants reach a final height of 25 to 40 cm.
Before planting, soak the tubers in lukewarm water for 12 to 24 hours. Plant them in autumn, 3 to 5 cm deep and 8 to 10 cm apart, in a position with full sun or light partial shade. Protect them from strong winds and provide loose, fertile, well-drained soil, as standing moisture can cause the tubers to rot.
