This study deals with gender stereotypes and the role of gender in the work of one of the most prominent representatives of the New Greek Cinema, creator Pantelis Voulgaris.

The first part provides basic information regarding gender studies and feminist theory. Additionally, it presents the fundamental theoretical framework of cinema art and the significance and concept of gender in film studies, while analyzing stereotypes and prejudices related to gender.

The second part clarifies the research framework and methodology. An analysis is conducted concerning the gender perspective in the films of creator Pantelis Voulgaris. For the purposes of the research, this analysis focuses on five characteristic films from his filmography: a) The Courtship of Anna, b) Stony Years, c) Quiet Days of August, d) Brides, and e) Little England.

In the end, a summary of the main points is provided, along with the key findings and suggestions arising from the research.
