Andrea Camilleri wrote them in 2018 with the intention of performing them himself on stage. The Discussion on Tiresias was presented at the ancient Greek theater of Syracuse in June 2018, with the now-blind Andrea Camilleri himself in the role of the blind seer. Tiresias begins to narrate his life, one of his seven lives, wandering through the centuries, commenting on the different versions of how he became blind, as well as the condition of his blindness and his prophetic ability, as seen by poets, painters, philosophers and composers, from Homer and Hesiod, Sophocles and Ovid to Milton, Eliot, Virginia Woolf and Pasolini.

In his Counterpoint, the fratricide Cain decides to defend himself and prove that he has been wrongly remembered as evil in history. Camilleri was to present this text again the following summer at the Baths of Caracalla in Rome, had death not come for him first, in July 2019.
