The Celestron Nature DX ED binoculars offer 10x magnification and are suitable for birdwatching and nature observation. The ED objective lenses almost completely reduce chromatic aberration, while the fully multi-coated optics and phase-coated BaK-4 prisms help improve light transmission and image sharpness. The minimum focusing distance is 2 m.

The polycarbonate body has a rubber covering. The twist-up eyecups allow use with prescription glasses, while the binoculars are waterproof and filled with dry nitrogen to prevent the lenses from fogging. They can be mounted on a photographic tripod; an adapter, which is not included, is required for photography through the eyepiece.
