Contact Glue is a polychloroprene-based contact adhesive that creates a flexible bond on materials such as leather, rubber, plastics, felt, cork, wood, metal and coated fabrics. It does not drip and provides quick initial adhesion. It is resistant to water and temperature and contains no toluene or cyclohexane.
It is used to bond veneer strips to the edges and curves of particleboard, and to protect the edges of wooden components and plywood from moisture and atmospheric effects. It is suitable for vertical surfaces, elastic gaskets, sound-insulating components and acoustic panels. Before application, surfaces must be free of dust, water, grease and other contaminants. Apply the adhesive evenly to both surfaces using a short-bristled brush or notched trowel. At 18 °C, allow approximately 10 min for the solvents to evaporate and the adhesive to become touch-dry; then press the components together firmly, as bond strength depends on the pressure applied rather than the length of time it is applied.
