The screw terminal allows connection of cables with a wide range of nominal cross-sections, from 1 mm² to 6 mm². It features a clamp made from square wire, which creates a thread on the stripped surface of the conductors. It is mainly designed for single-core cables, but can also be used for multi-core cables, with significantly less holding force.
