Description

The first edition of the book is released with a hardcover and painted edges.

A dangerous alliance between a Vampire and a Werewolf turns into a love so powerful, it will make you... bite the page.

Misery Lark, the only daughter of the most powerful advisor to the Vampires in the southwestern territories, once again becomes a means to an agreement.

Now she is called to leave her life among Humans and sacrifice herself to achieve a historic peace agreement between the Vampires and their mortal enemies, the Werewolves. With few choices, she surrenders once again.

But the Werewolves are ruthless and unpredictable.
Their Alpha, Lowe Morland, is no exception.
He rules with an iron fist, justice, and plenty of emotion.

And from the way he watches Misery’s every move, it’s clear he doesn’t trust her. And perhaps he’s right.

Because Misery has her own reasons for accepting this marriage. Reasons that have nothing to do with diplomacy or alliances, but with the one thing she has ever truly cared about. And she is ready to do anything to get it back. Even if that means living alone in the land of the Werewolves... alone with the wolf.

    “You’re not a problem, Misery. You’re a privilege.” - Lowe

A vampire, a werewolf, and a white marriage of convenience. The two rival clans must find peace between them, and their connecting link will be none other than Misery, who will become the Wolf’s Bride for the sake of a peaceful treaty.
But does Misery have her own interests in this story, and is this Wolf perhaps more attractive than he should be for her tastes?

A provocative mix of the two eternal rival clans—vampires and werewolves—that will make you see things completely differently and experience comical and tragic situations and misunderstandings.
This book is pure enjoyment and I promise you’ll have a great time from start to finish.

Ali’s humor is unique and the comedic rawness she often brings to scenes will get you addicted to her writing style and leave you wanting more and more…

The plot is quite interesting and keeps you hooked from beginning to end without dragging. There’s also a small plot twist that will reward you at the end, so girlfriend, as you can see, we’re talking about a book that has a bit of everything.

The protagonists have chemistry with each other and their dialogues are absolutely delightful. Lowe is a treat while Misery will surprise you with her dynamism and humor.

I recommend it to anyone looking for something smart and interesting to relax with and to those who were avid Twilight readers.

P.S. The book can be read as a standalone, however, the second in the series, “Mate,” has characters and dialogues that rely on the plot of the first book, so I don’t recommend reading it on its own.

  • Finaaaally I read one of my most anticipated reads for 2024 and I wonder why I hadn't done it sooner because...omg what a masterpiece of a paranormal romcom was this? ??️

So, we have a wonderful little book, in English which I hope will be translated, by my beloved Ali Hazelwood which I read while I was sick in the summer and it literally made me lose myself in its world!

Misery is a Vampire who doesn't belong anywhere, she has sacrificed a lot for her people and now she has to accept another sacrifice: to become the bride of the Alpha Werewolf as a diplomatic act of peace between their peoples who are at war and in tension, but for her own reasons. Lowe, the alpha male of his pack, must agree to this marriage so he can establish himself after his recent rise to alpha.

? We have forced proximity, fake marriage, wonderful found family, cozy & humorous characters and sexy and daring protagonists who can't take their eyes off each other.
? Spicy, paranormal, political issues, werewolf x vampire, fated mates and a wonderful plot that keeps you hooked!
? Surprising, hot, funny, incredibly well-written to the point that you think about it all day.
Conclusion: I loved it deeply! It truly deserves all 5 stars! YOU MUST READ IT!
