Description

The car fuel pressure diagnostic test kit is suitable for most vehicles with a petrol engine or gas engine fuel injection system (except Bosch, CIS Jetronic, Throttle Body Systems in GM cars). It is not suitable for diesel engines with high pressure injection pump or direct injection engines, due to the low pressure range of the pressure gauge.

Fuel pressure testing is an essential part of the fuel injection system diagnosis process.

Contents:

  • Various connectors and flexible hoses for testing.
  • 15" long hose for direct connection to the 1/4" SAE standard fuel pump shredder valve.
  • 8" long hose for the M6 fuel pressure test port, with M8, M10, M12, M14 adapters for the corresponding test port on the fuel rail.
  • Aluminum T for supporting the connection between the fuel pump and the engine for most cars.
  • Pressure gauge with 3-1/2" dial diameter, range 0-10bar (0-140psi) and two-color coded scale for easy reading.
  • Resin nylon rubber hoses, with reinforced flexible hose.
  • Pressure relief valve and 16" fuel drain hose for safe pressure release and fuel recovery.

Fuel pump pressure testing: The pressure gauge is designed to easily and quickly check the pressure of the fuel injection pump and fuel flow. The pressure reading can be compared with the manufacturer's recommended reference range for petrol engine system diagnosis.

Low fuel pressure may be due to a kink/leak/blockage on the inlet side, a bad fuel pump or regulator, or low tank pressure. High fuel pressure may be caused by a faulty fuel pressure regulator or blocked outlet return line.
