Description

Iconoclastic, subversive, penetrating, usefully intervening, unwaveringly subjective, but at the same time deeply objective, with vivid language and relentless writing style, Professor Thanasis Diamantopoulos offers an anatomical view of the Metapolitefsi and its Prime Ministers that will not go unnoticed. It is also likely to become a point of reference in the future…

The author himself questions: Is this perhaps a cold "anatomical view" of a political scientist, who also conducts historical research, on the work and the political-historical footprint of the ten Prime Ministers of the Metapolitefsi? Through them, a comprehensive "diagnosis" of the period? Or is it an intervention in current developments by an active citizen, who denounces the misconduct of those who served as Prime Ministers and highlights systemic issues that – possibly because of them – became problematic, aiming to contribute to the improvement of the current political reality?

Writing often with sharp language, but – at least intentionally – with historical fairness, the author seeks to combine these two objectives: To deliver a work written both with a critical eye towards the "central authorities," and at the same time, interventionist, with the (perhaps naive) hope that it will not go unnoticed by those shaping today, but also by those who will study tomorrow, the institutional and political terms of operation of the Second, or by some, the Third, Greek Democracy…
