Thebai by Board & Dice is a strategy board game for 1–4 players, set in Thebes at the end of the Bronze Age. Players take on the roles of leaders of noble families and seek to rebuild the acropolis of Cadmea, restore the city’s exports, pray to the gods, and protect its inhabitants as battles unfold outside the gates.

The game lasts 10 rounds, each divided into an Action phase and a Fate phase. During the Action phase, each player uses a Citizen die and moves their Archon around Cadmea. In the Fate phase, additional opportunities to score points may arise, depending on the players’ achievements and their protection of the gates. The player with the most victory points wins.
