Valerian tincture belongs to the category: herbal supplements and is traditionally used to reduce nervous anxiety in adults and children. It is also useful in the treatment of insomnia and spasmodic conditions.
The use of valerian tincture is not recommended in the following cases:

- Pregnancy and breastfeeding
Precautions when using valerian tincture: Since there is limited evidence regarding administration of valerian root to children under 12 years of age, the use of this medicine is recommended only under medical supervision.
Long-term use of valerian may cause some unwanted reactions such as:

- Cardiac disorders
Patients are advised to avoid consuming ethyl alcohol simultaneously with valerian root. The medicine should not be taken together with other sedatives.

Dosage and administration: For mild sleep disorders, the recommended dose is 15-20 drops diluted in 50 ml of water, taken half an hour before sleep. In the case of severe insomnia, an additional similar dose may be taken in the evening. For other conditions, the recommended dose is 10 drops three times daily or 15-20 drops three times daily in severe cases, diluted in 50 ml of water.
