"On July 26, 2006, I fell seriously ill. (...) I couldn't have imagined that my life would be extended by another seven years. Only then did I have the privilege to read and study many things I should have learned earlier. I believe that our new discoveries have surprised us all."
...The greatness of Fidel in two or three lines.
The texts in this edition include Fidel's thoughts, primarily from his writings, from the last fifteen years of his life.
Every "lover" of Fidel and the Cuban Revolution enjoys seeing within its greatness the ideological affirmation of their own unfulfilled revolution. Justly so, because Fidel's wealth of thought "is enough for everyone." A victorious Revolution in the American continent is no small thing.
The selection of texts in this edition aims to highlight the richness and greatness of the thoughts of the great Revolutionary of the 20th and 21st centuries, during the early years of the 21st century, and his concern to shed light on a range of contemporary issues, passing them through the experience of the victorious Cuban Revolution.
In these texts, we will find references to ancient Greece, China, Russia, Palestine, and of course Venezuela, Hugo Chávez, and the unification/closure of Latin America through the revolutionary vision of Simón Bolívar and José Martí, and finally the BRICS and the emerging multipolar world.
A tribute and an expression of gratitude to our own Fidel and the heroic people of Cuba, who, through their victorious decades-long struggle against imperialism, provided courage and strengthened the struggles of our people and many other peoples on Earth.
The texts included are:
Fidel's last wish: Nothing in Cuba will bear his name.
The birthday.
"The Cuban people will triumph."
Speech at the Closing of the 7th Congress of the Cuban Communist Party.
Brother Obama.
It is our right to be Marxists-Leninists.
For my comrades in the Federation of Cuban Students.
Palestinian Holocaust in Gaza.
It is time to approach the reality a little more.
The objective truths and dreams.
The dangers that threaten us.
Fidel on sectarianism. (May 1985, interview with Brazilian theologian Frei Betto, a prominent representative of the "Liberation Theology").
