Description & Specifications

Poplar Body Construction & 24" Ergonomics

The guitar’s body is made from solid poplar, a wood chosen for its low weight and balanced midrange tonal response. The body shape evokes the distinctive vintage aesthetic of historic Vox instruments, while also incorporating a specially insulated internal cavity that functions as a speaker cabinet. The bolt-on maple (Maple) neck is paired with a Purpleheart fingerboard with a 9.5" (240 mm) radius. The short 24" (610 mm) scale length reduces string tension and brings the 19 frets closer together.

Built-In Amplifier, Speaker & Passive Radiators

The APC-1 operates completely independently, with no need for an external amplifier or cables. An oval 4.7" x 3.1" full-range speaker is built into the front of the body and powered by an internal 4.6 W RMS power amplifier. To overcome the natural low-frequency limitations of small speakers, Vox has installed two passive radiators. This technology harnesses the air pressure generated inside the internal cavity to deliver enhanced bass and full-bodied sound without distortion.

Digital Effects, Rhythm Machine & Connectivity Features

The guitar’s electronic circuit features a built-in digital effects processor with Chorus, Tremolo, Delay/Echo and Reverb, adjustable via dedicated controls to create the desired sound. It also includes a standalone drum machine with 33 rhythm patterns (Rock, Blues, Pop, Funk, Jazz, and more), an adjustable tempo ranging from 40 to 240 BPM, and independent volume control. The instrument also has a built-in LED tuner for quick tuning without additional equipment. For connectivity, it features a 3.5 mm AUX In for playing along with a smartphone or backing tracks, a 3.5 mm headphone output for silent practice, and a standard 1/4" Jack output for connecting the instrument to any conventional external amplifier or audio console.
