Description

Athens, the 1960s. Anna, a famous actress, after an unexpected visit from a young journalist, confronts her past. An old book opens a crack and brings forth memories she had long tried to avoid. And then, from within her emerges… Alexandria of the 1930s.

A city at the crossroads of cultures, contrasts, and interests, where nothing is as it seems. Social divisions, political games, and underground tensions shape life at every level. In this turbulent setting, the Greek spirit flourishes. The Greeks live and create under the vast sky of the city. The then young Anna dreams of another world. Her talent, explosive and undeniable, will lead her into a glamorous yet dangerous society. There, a passionate love affair will be born between her and Alexander, a love surrounded by inequality, social stereotypes, and fear.

Their relationship reflects the class and moral dilemmas of an entire era. As the Middle East boils with geopolitical interests and behind-the-scenes power plays, the English, French, Arabs, and Jews claim their dominance, pushing the "game" to its limits. A murder disrupts Anna's personal story, inevitably entangling her in the larger History of humanity. Anna narrates not only her own life but also the unseen side of an era that marked an entire world.
