Humans have always worn adornments, for aesthetic reasons and more. Various ornaments or amulets served as protection or were worn to bring luck or health. Nowadays, we wear jewelry primarily for its aesthetic role, to keep up with fashion, although we might also consider that adornments could have a healing role. This is especially true for jewelry made from precious metals, but also for felted wool jewelry, as the beneficial effects of wool are well known.

For thousands of years, various household items as well as adornments have been made from wool. Among the artifacts of the Scythians, one of the oldest peoples who worked with wool, jewelry was also found. These were made from wool, precious metals, animal skins, or semi-precious stones.

Today, countless artists and artisans, especially young people, have rediscovered this wonderful raw material and create jewelry from felted wool. Felting or needle felting is done with a special needle that has barbs near the sharp tip; when the wool fibers are worked with it, they stretch and entangle.

In this book, alongside the presentation of materials and working techniques, special ideas for making jewelry from felted wool are offered. Readers are encouraged to be creative by trying various combinations of patterns and colors.
