Consumer interest in fruit-bearing shrubs from the wild flora has seen considerable growth in recent decades. As a result, specialist research on the transplantation of these shrub species into gardens and commercial plantations has intensified, aiming to obtain hybrids and even varieties that are much more productive, with improved quality fruits.

In this book, part of the Our Garden collection, several species of fruit-bearing shrubs from the wild flora are presented - sea buckthorn, cornelian cherry, medlar, service tree, Japanese quince, blueberry - which can be cultivated in gardens and commercial plantations, as well as their multiple uses beyond their purely decorative character.
