This book refers to the inner teachings of Hinduism and Buddhism. The teachings have been derived from the Book of Golden Rules, which is part of the Stanzas of Dzyan, believed to be the oldest book in the world.

It includes 3 excerpts and addresses Enlightenment, the end of incarnations, and the final liberation of man. The difficult path leading to these, the distinction between illusion and truth, between the visible and the invisible, and the culmination of all, the sacrifice for fellow beings, are the great truths that, according to Blavatsky, were taught by the first Great Serpents (the ancient name of the Mystics).
