Description

Our life’s journey passes through roads of successive psychological traumas. An inevitable law of nature. In the Post-Modern era we are experiencing, environmental, social, and economic crises and their consequences are carriers of high stress and violence. Trauma therapy becomes more relevant, perhaps more than ever before. The goal of an integrated trauma-therapeutic process is not only the healing of psychological trauma. It is essential to also include and (compensatorily) give meaning to the psychological trauma, achieving the psychological resilience of our Post-Traumatic Growth, so that we are able to continue our lives with freedom.

The development of neuroimaging methods as well as recent advances in fetal, neonatal, and infant studies in Behavioral Genetics have highlighted remarkable studies regarding the impact of stress and psychological trauma on the Central Nervous System (C.N.S.). It now appears that the neural pathways of trauma processing in the brain and the loops that lock us into traumatic experiences are taking on a new dimension.

We await the remarkable era in which external psychotherapeutic techniques will be systematized with a common denominator: their effect on brain functions. They will be addressed, with specific variations, to the various and highly connected neural networks (depending on the particularities of each case), and will establish "the New Paradigm of Thought" for a Synthetic Approach in the Clinical Practice of Trauma Therapy.
