The body of the 1958 Les Paul Standard Reissue is crafted from a solid piece of lightweight mahogany with no weight-relief cavities, preserving its authentic density and vibration transfer. The plain maple top is joined with hide glue, following traditional 1950s techniques. The Bourbon Burst finish has received the Murphy Lab’s Ultra Light Aged treatment, which creates fine checking in the nitrocellulose lacquer and light wear on the hardware, simulating the look of an instrument that has been carefully stored for decades.
Authentic Neck Profile & Historical Details
The one-piece mahogany neck is shaped to a 50s Chunky C profile, offering a substantial feel in the hand that helps sustain notes. It is joined to the body using the Long Neck Tenon method and hot hide glue for maximum energy transfer. The Indian rosewood fingerboard features 22 Historic Medium-Jumbo frets, a nylon nut for smooth string movement, and authentic cellulose nitrate trapezoid inlays.
Custombucker Alnico 3 Pickups & Traditional Electronics
The guitar is equipped with two Custombucker Alnico 3 humbuckers with unpotted coils, delivering exceptional clarity, dynamic response, and the characteristic asymmetrical winding of the original PAFs. The wiring is hand-wired and includes CTS 500K Audio Taper potentiometers paired with Paper-in-Oil capacitors, allowing smooth volume and tone adjustments without loss of high frequencies.
Vintage Hardware & Tuning Stability
The bridge system consists of the historically accurate No-Wire ABR-1 bridge, which mounts directly to the body, and the lightweight aluminum stop bar. Kluson Single Line/Single Ring tuning keys preserve the vintage aesthetic while providing smooth, precise tuning.
