Athenians and Athenians - how "clean" are we really;

Clean City brings to the forefront those who keep our everyday life clean invisibly: the immigrant cleaning women of Athens. Through the voices and testimonies of five real women from Albania, Bulgaria, Moldova, the Philippines, and South Africa, the work explores the concept of "clean" = from its literal to its metaphorical meaning – and sheds light on the fine line that separates cleanliness from exclusion.

Who cleans the city? Why mostly women? What does it mean to be "foreign" and at the same time necessary? Through theater - a documentary that balances poetry and reality, Azas and Tsinikoris unfold stories of everyday heroines: former teachers, architects, mothers, women who left behind a world to start anew.

Clean City is not only about Athens. It examines how the concept of "clean" has shaped policies, ideologies, and social hierarchies – from Nazi exclusion mechanisms to modern "sweep operations".

Through the power of documentary theater, the work offers a new perspective on who we are and who we consider not to belong.
