The Vintage ProShop Custom Build V100PU Kossoff 59' Dirty Lemon is a single-cutaway solid-body electric guitar, handcrafted and set up by the specialist Vintage ProShop team in the UK with reference to the historic specifications of 1959. The body is made of solid mahogany with a maple cap and flame maple veneer, finished with a distressed effect in Dirty Lemon. The set mahogany neck features a traditional Soft C profile and joins the body with a Long Tenon joint and sculpted Offset Heel. The Lignum Rosa fingerboard features 22 Medium Jumbo frets with hand-rolled edges, a 12-inch radius and a natural bone nut. The electronics include a pair of passive Wilkinson WOHZBC Zebra humbuckers with independent volume and tone controls. Mechanical stability is provided by the Wilkinson Tune-O-Matic bridge with Stopbar tailpiece and Wilkinson Deluxe WJ44 tuners.

Mahogany Body Construction, Flame Maple & Distressed Aging

The instrument’s body is based on the enduring single-cutaway platform of the V100 series and is crafted from solid mahogany (Solid Mahogany), paired with a maple cap (Maple Cap) and a top layer of flame maple veneer (Flame Maple Veneer). Mahogany provides high acoustic density, extended sustain, and a warm low-midrange response, while the maple cap enhances tonal clarity and dynamic attack. This Custom Build edition has undergone extensive hand-applied artificial aging (Distressed Aging) by the technicians at Vintage ProShop in the United Kingdom, recreating the wear and hardware oxidation found on historic 1959 instruments. 

Long Tenon Soft C Neck & Lignum Rosa Fingerboard

The neck is constructed from a single piece of mahogany and joined to the body with a Set-Neck glued joint featuring a deep Long Tenon, maximizing wood-to-wood contact for direct transmission of acoustic energy. The joint incorporates an ergonomic Offset Heel, which eliminates sharp angles and makes thumb placement on the upper frets easier. The Soft C profile provides natural palm support and balanced pressure distribution. The fingerboard is made from Lignum Rosa, a high-density, technologically stabilized material with the acoustic characteristics of Indian rosewood and high resistance to changes in heat and humidity. 

Wilkinson Zebra PAF Pickups & Hardware

The electrical circuit is equipped with a set of passive dual-coil Wilkinson WOHZBC Zebra Humbuckers with Alnico V magnets, voiced to reproduce the characteristic PAF tone of the late 1950s. The pickups provide balanced output, clear articulation in the treble and a tight low-frequency response without excessive saturation under overdrive. Controls include a traditional 3-way toggle switch and independent volume and tone pots (2x Volume, 2x Tone). The hardware includes a Wilkinson Tune-O-Matic bridge with individually adjustable saddles and a solid Stopbar Tailpiece. Combined with the vintage-style Wilkinson Deluxe WJ44 tuning machines, these ensure precise intonation and tuning stability.
