The De Havilland Tiger Moth is a British tandem training biplane with a fixed undercarriage. Its maiden flight took place in 1931. The original production version was powered by the de Havilland Gipsy III engine with 120 horsepower and was designated Mk.I. Shortly after, the engine was changed to the de Havilland Gipsy Major with 130 horsepower, leading to the creation of the Mk.II version. Serial production started in 1933 and continued until 1944. The Tiger Moth served as one of the primary training aircraft of the RAF during World War II.
