The Mikojan-Guriewicz MIG-17 is a Soviet, single-engine, medium-wing metal fighter jet, also known by its NATO code name, Fresco. Its maiden flight took place in January 1950.

• Engine: Klimov WK-1F
• Variants: Several main variants were developed, such as the MiG-17F and the MiG-17PF, which includes radar. The MiG-17PFU version could guide missiles using the aircraft's radar.
• Production: The aircraft was manufactured under license in Poland, where serial production started in 1956 under the name Lim-5, with an attack variant also developed (Lim-6bis).
• Current Use: The MIG-17 is still operational with the Mali Air Force.
