The Ibanez FRH20QMN-WRL is a hybrid nylon-string electro-acoustic guitar with a slim body based on the geometry of the FR series. It features a quilted maple top paired with a sapele body, which incorporates an internal cavity and a sound port on the upper side. This design provides direct acoustic feedback for the player while minimizing feedback in amplified stage settings. For sound capture and shaping, it is equipped with the Ibanez T-bar undersaddle piezo pickup and Ibanez Custom Electronics preamp with an integrated mute switch. Ergonomic features include a C-profile nyatoh neck, a walnut fretboard with a 15.75" radius, and a traditional walnut bridge.

Thinline Construction, Materials & Side Sound Port Architecture

The Ibanez FRH20QMN features a solid thinline body with a depth of just 50 mm, combining the ergonomics of an electric guitar with the acoustic response of a classical instrument. The Quilted Maple top delivers a crisp attack and extended high-frequency clarity, while the Sapele body provides a stable acoustic foundation with warm low-mid frequencies. Inside the instrument, Fan Bracing ensures optimal vibration from the nylon strings. The absence of a traditional front soundhole and the addition of a Side Sound Port direct sound waves straight toward the player, significantly reducing acoustic feedback when connected to an amplifier or mixing console.

Ibanez Custom Electronics System & Preamp

Electric amplification of the natural sound is achieved via the Ibanez T-bar Undersaddle piezo pickup, mounted beneath the bridge saddle to accurately capture the pressure and vibration of each string individually. The signal is routed to the active Ibanez Custom Electronics preamp, which delivers a neutral, balanced response across the entire frequency range without distortion. The control unit features a discreet Mute Switch for safely and silently changing cables or cutting the signal on stage, while the system is efficiently powered by 2 CR2032 lithium batteries.

Ergonomic Neck, Walnut Fretboard & Accessories

The neck is made from durable Nyatoh wood and features an ergonomic "C" Shape profile, with a thickness of 21 mm at the 1st fret and 22 mm at the 7th fret. The walnut fingerboard has a modern radius of 15.75" (400 mm) and a nut width of 1.81" (46 mm), offering a hybrid feel that bridges the gap between classical and steel-string acoustic guitars. The walnut bridge ensures stable transfer of vibrations to the top, while the Gold Classical Tuners provide smooth and precise tuning across the 25.5" (648 mm) scale length.
