The optics in the AP 72/420 telescope use a double lens with a single element made from ED glass with an exceptionally low refractive index. For the glass clear aperture element, Schott glass of high quality is used. Each glass-air surface in the optics features a metal anti-reflective coating to achieve excellent light transmission of 99.5%. This apochromatic optical design ensures minimal chromatic aberration and provides a very clear image.

This budget-friendly, short focal length binocular is ideal for astroimaging of large star fields without the need for a heavy astronomical mount. It is also perfect for travel or portable astrophotography in general. The sensitive focuser with a 1:11 reduction is very useful for focusing.
