The upgrade of this model is characterized by the incorporation of Shimano's top technologies, combining the HAGANE gear with MicroModule II, X–Ship, and Silent Drive technologies, which ensure the best possible performance of the mechanism.

The X–Protect system prevents water from entering the mechanical parts of the mechanism, increasing its lifespan. The combination of Long Stroke Spool and AR–C Spool technologies allows for long casts, facilitating the release of the line during casting. The addition of a body made of CI4+ material reduces the overall weight of the mechanism.
