The modeling figure with three axles was developed at the beginning of World War II for the American forces, which required vehicles capable of transporting 12 infantry prisoners. In some cases, it was equipped with a heavy M2 machine gun. A version of the original two-axle variant, manufactured in the 1930s, the WC 62 was effective in rough terrain and proved to be a very reliable vehicle. The WC 62 and the WC 63 variant, which was factory-produced, continued to be built even after the war ended and equipped transport units of many allied armies of the USA, where they were used until the 1970s.
