The ZWO ASI715 camera uses a Sony IMX715 sensor with Starvis 2 back-illuminated technology, low read noise and near-infrared sensitivity. It is suitable for planetary and infrared astrophotography, as well as imaging small deep-sky objects. Its 1.4 µm pixels support high-resolution imaging directly at the telescope’s focal plane, without extending the focal length.

The clear glass filter protects the sensor from dust while allowing ultraviolet and infrared radiation to pass through. The uncooled camera features an integrated PCS that dissipates heat from the sensor and lowers its temperature by up to 15 °C compared with cameras without PCS. Its high frame rate, full-well capacity and anti-amp-glow circuitry complete its feature set.
