The 7Artisans True Color VND 6-9 Variable ND filter is designed for lenses with front filter threads of 67, 72, 77, and 82 millimeters. It provides exposure reduction from 6 to 9 stops, with density ranging from 1.8 to 2.7, creating overall darkness in the image, allowing for open aperture or faster shutter speeds than normally possible.

The filter density is easily controlled by rotating the front filter ring, facilitating the adjustment of the additional exposure time required. By slowing the shutter speed, motion can be captured or increased blurriness can be achieved. Increasing the aperture allows for easier management of the image’s depth of field. The filter features a side groove ring for secure grip and quick, precise installation, designed to prevent rotation beyond the marked aperture values.

The weight of the entire range ranges from 0.6 to 0.8 kilograms. The 6-9 stops VND filter is made from sapphire crystal for increased durability. To prevent internal reflections, 16 layers of anti-reflective coatings protect the filter substrate from scratches, while enhancing clarity and color fidelity. Additionally, these coatings offer improved water and oil repellency, making cleaning easier.
