They cut, but all the knives came loose and come out of the wooden handle

Basically, it's only worth it for the base. The knives are decent blades but are mounted on a ridiculous plastic base that snaps onto also plastic handles (don't be fooled by their wooden appearance). The result is that there is no stability in cutting, and practically they are all only good for cutting butter or at best onions. With anything harder (e.g., hard cheese), the handle stays in your hand and the blade gets stuck in the food.
Fortunately, I got them cheap and will keep the base, which is sturdy with a nice design. I'm already looking to buy other knives.
