This book is aimed at students aged 12 to 14 who want to prepare for the "Deutsches Sprachdiplom, Stufe I" exam, known as "DSD I." It follows both the official format of the exam as designed by the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs of Germany (KMK) and the proven recipe of the "Arena" series: exam preparation with an additional section of grammar and vocabulary exercises.

The "Lehrerausgabe" teacher's edition is identical to that of the student but includes all answers in red.

• It includes 10 model tests with slightly increasing difficulty levels, covering all individual thematic areas and the four language skills, with content suitable for the age group targeted by the book.
• The first test contains a detailed introduction explaining the format of the exam and presents step-by-step methods for solving each part or exercise of the test.
• For each test, for the productive parts of the exam (written and spoken production), four additional pages with practical exercises are provided, systematically addressing the most important grammatical phenomena and the vocabulary of levels A1 to B1.
