EDS-i Sound Generator & Expanded PCM Flash Memory

The Korg Kross 2-61 is built around the EDS-i sound engine, offering high-quality samples covering acoustic pianos, electric pianos, organs, strings, synth leads and pads, as well as modern drum kits. It features 128 MB of PCM Flash memory, allowing users to load additional Korg sound libraries. With a maximum polyphony of up to 120 voices, it lets you create complex layered sounds and splits without notes being cut off.

Full Sampler & 16 Illuminated Pads

The instrument’s front panel is equipped with 16 illuminated pads that support full sampling functionality (Pad Sampler). They let you record and recall up to 64 audio samples (4 banks × 16 pads) via the microphone or line input, as well as play audio files directly from an SD card. The pads can also be used to trigger rhythmic patterns, navigate Step Sequencer steps, or select programs.

Built-in Sequencer, Audio Recorder & Real-Time Controls

For creating and producing music, the Kross 2 features a 16-track MIDI sequencer, a Step Sequencer for quickly programming rhythms, an automatic Arpeggiator, and a standalone Drum Track section. Meanwhile, the built-in SD Card Audio Recorder lets you record your entire performance—including the microphone input—as a multitrack digital WAV file at 16-bit / 48kHz. The Realtime Control section includes rotary knobs and switches for instantly adjusting filter and effect parameters, as well as Quick Layer/Split.

USB Audio Interface, Portability & Power Supply

The synthesizer functions as a bidirectional USB Audio/MIDI interface at 24-bit / 48 kHz, allowing you to record stereo audio directly to a computer without the need for an external audio interface. Weighing just 3.8 kg and powered by 6 AA batteries, it offers complete portability for rehearsals, live street performances, and use outside the studio.
