The combination of a next-generation image processing system and the new sensor achieves up to 1.5 stops improvement in image quality. Typical wide ISO sensitivity range up to ISO 51200 and dynamic range of approximately 15 stops at low sensitivity settings. The upgrade in detailed reproduction and noise reduction depending on the area work together to reduce noise and maintain an overall sense of high resolution. Color performance, especially in skin tones and natural landscapes, has also been dramatically improved. The a7 III also supports 14-bit RAW output even during silent shooting/continuous shooting.

Description
Fully improved image processing system
The combination of a next-generation image processing system and the new sensor achieves up to 1.5 stops improvement in image quality. Typical wide ISO sensitivity range up to ISO 51200 and dynamic range of approximately 15 stops at low sensitivity settings. The upgrade in detailed reproduction and noise reduction depending on the area work together to reduce noise and maintain an overall sense of high resolution. Color performance, especially in skin tones and natural landscapes, has also been dramatically improved. The a7 III also supports 14-bit RAW output even during silent shooting/continuous shooting.
Wider, faster, more stable autofocus performance
The advanced image processing system and autofocus algorithms of the α9 camera, optimized for the α7 III, enhance the speed, accuracy, and tracking performance of autofocus. The 693 phase-detection autofocus points and 425 contrast-detection autofocus points provide wide high-density coverage. With up to twice the autofocus speed and the most accurate autofocus tracking performance, you can capture and maintain focus on subjects that move quickly and unpredictably. Additionally, the α7 III reliably autofocuses in brightness down to EV-3.
Improved functionality for continuous shooting
Images taken in continuous shooting mode can be viewed as a group, and such groups can be deleted or protected with a quick operation. Additionally, with higher burst capability and UHS-II media compatibility, the camera optimizes data recording to memory cards. The Fn button and the menu button can be used to change settings immediately after continuous shooting, during data recording.
LCD touchscreen for easy instant focusing
The 3.0-type LCD screen with 922k dots offers touch screen operation and bright, clear, detailed images even outdoors. Use touch focus for instant focus on the point you touch on the screen and the touchpad to drag the focus frame with your finger on the LCD screen while viewing the shot through the viewfinder. The LCD screen tilts up to 107° upwards and 41° downwards, for flexible and comfortable camera handling and shot monitoring.
Two slots for UHS-II compatibility
This camera features dual media slots for an SD card (compatible with UHS-II for fast data writing) and for an SD/Memory Stick card, respectively. Two cards in the slots can be used for simultaneous or sequential data recording, for separating RAW data from JPEG data or still images from movies, and for copying data from one card to another. The memory card cover locks to prevent accidental opening.
Remote control and sharing with one touch
One-touch remote control can turn a smartphone or tablet into a viewfinder/remote control. One-touch sharing allows you to transfer photos and videos to your device to share on social networks. Simply install the Imaging Edge Mobile app via Wi-Fi on your NFC-enabled Android device and touch the device to the camera to connect them. If you don't have NFC, use QR code compatibility to pair the devices.
