It is often observed that supervised psychoanalysts neglect to mention the physical Presence of their patients when discussing with their supervisor. Even more striking is the fact that most of us, when asked about the role of Presence in our lives, either speak with some embarrassment or have nothing substantial to say, which is not the case when the topic is Absence, for which our observations are always clearer.

This essay analyzes Presence both in the psychoanalytic process and in our lives, examining its various forms and shades, the reasons for the embarrassment it causes us, and its relationship with Representation, Vision, and Ghost. According to its definition, "Presence is constantly present, dynamic, active, colors reality and plays with it".
