Cardamom (or green cardamom) is the dried seed of a plant from the ginger family. It is one of the most expensive spices, known since ancient times.

• Strengthening properties: It is reputed to increase sexual desire and physically invigorate.
• Taste: It has a distinctive flavor with an intense aroma, bitter and sweet, slightly lemony.
• Health benefits: Cardiotonic, diuretic, and expectorant. It enhances digestive function and is beneficial for the liver.
• Uses: Primarily accompanies salads and cooked vegetables. In Arab countries, it is used in coffee and in Africa added to tea. It is also used in pickles and marinades.
• It is recommended to prefer it in seed form, as the powder quickly loses its aroma. It is stored in a well-sealed container and ground just before cooking.
