The ZWO ASI 533 MM Pro monochrome astronomy camera uses a back-illuminated CMOS sensor with a square format and a diagonal of approximately 16 mm, making use of the telescope’s corrected image field. Its light sensitivity is approximately 80% QE, while its low amplifier glow makes it suitable for deep-sky astrophotography. Peltier cooling reduces the sensor temperature by up to 35 °C below ambient temperature.

The camera connects via USB 3.0 or USB 2.0 and features DDR3 buffer memory for stable data transfer over USB 2.0. The sensor has a resolution with 3.76 µm pixels and a 14-bit ADC. It is used for photographing nebulae, galaxies, the Moon and planets, as well as for video astronomy.
