This book is the first -as far as I know- written in the Greek language on the subject of agroforestry and the systems it creates.
It is an introductory manual for the science and practice of agroforestry in our country. It includes the basic concepts surrounding the structure and function of agroforestry systems and analyzes the multiple goods and services they offer. Emphasis is placed on traditional agroforestry systems, for which a rough description is provided for the most important ones.
Additionally, it contains essential information for the establishment of modern systems as well as the most suitable species offered for this purpose. It is intended for agronomists and other scientists who want to familiarize themselves with this new science, as well as for progressive farmers who wish to tend to existing systems or establish new ones.
It is also intended as a teaching book for vocational high schools, universities, and technological institutions. At the end of the book, a table of the plants mentioned in the text with their scientific names is provided, along with a table explaining the technical terms used.
